Speaker Applications
Do you have expertise you’d like to share with the IBPA community of independent publishers (including traditional, hybrid, university, and nonprofit presses) and author publishers (a.k.a. self-published authors)? IBPA puts out a call for speakers every September for the following year’s webinars and IBPA Publishing University conference.
Please note that speaker applications are evaluated with the following criteria:
-
Is there a clear and compelling educational purpose? As shown in:
-
Proposed session title,
-
One or two paragraph description,
-
Listing (via text or bullet points) of educational objectives, explaining what folks will gain by attending/participating in your proposed session.
-
-
Who is the specific audience? (Beginner or advanced, and is it for a specific type of IBPA member?)
-
Do the speaker(s) have demonstrated expertise in the area they intend to present? (Conveyed via a one-paragraph bio and an optional link to an online video of the speaker presenting.
Overall the IBPA programming team looks to balance programming to cover a wide range of publishing topics, at different levels, with experts representing a diversity of perspectives and experiences.
All speakers (as well as IBPA members) are required to adhere to IBPA’s community guidelines.
